Main Street UMC is striving to be a welcoming, hospitable and safe place for worship. Becoming a Campus Greeter is a new opportunity to serve those attending Sunday worship services.
Campus Greeters:
- 8 teams to work one shift per weekend per month
- 4 people to a team
- Shift 1 to patrol 8:00am until 10:00am; Shift 2 to patrol from 10:00am to 12:15pm
Duties of Shift 1:
- Make sure all entrances are unlocked
- Greet people at the entrance areas (not inside)
- Be a friendly, helpful presence.
- On busy Sundays, help direct traffic in the parking lots. i.e. If the main lots are full, direct people to the overflow areas.
Duties of Shift 2:
- Greet people at the parking areas of the church (not inside)
- Be a friendly, helpful presence.
- On busy Sundays, help direct traffic in the parking lots. i.e. If the main lots are full, direct people to the overflow areas.
- During the worship service, make sure no one is messing with cars in the lots.
- Around 11:10, lock all the doors in the Education building and Chapel, except the breezeway doors. These should be locked after Kids Connect begins.
