Bethany Café
Bethany Café provides a meal to members of our community and delivers a meal to homebound on the THIRD Saturday of every month. Volunteers are always needed.
Big Hope
Main St. UMC has been deeply involved in loving and serving others in may different kinds of ways for many years. Recently the Outreach Committee made the decision to be a partner in a medical outreach ministry in the Dominican Republic. The Good Samaritan Clinic was started many years ago by the Western North Carolina Conference of the UMC. (Big Hope)
CareNet Counseling of Kernersville
We are a compassionate, professional, statewide, community-based counseling organization offering a level of highly personalized therapy to meet and engage people where they are their lives—mentally, financially and spiritually. A non-profit mental health counseling organization that began in 1972, formerly called Pastoral Counseling, the organization grew out of the ministry of the Department of Pastoral Care of North Carolina Baptist Hospital. The Kernersville Counseling center is on the Main St. campus.
Children of Zion Outreach Ministry
Children of Zion OutReach Ministry, Inc is a non-profit, grassroots organization that believes that by showing God’s love and compassion to those in our community we will help people move from brokenness to wholeness by the power of the Holy Spirit. Psalms 149:2 “Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King” is our scripture guide for the ministry.
City Lights Ministry
City Lights Ministry is committed to providing hope and building futures for children, and their families living in adverse conditions of the inner city. By meeting them where they are, personally investing in their lives, providing physical needs and presenting the Gospel in a fun, accessible way, we believe we can build foundations that lead to hope, a future and a better life for children in need around our city.
Crisis Control Ministries of Kernersville
Crisis Control Ministries of Kernersville helps those needing emergency assistance with food, finances, and more. We financially support this ministry with your contributions to the church along with donations at our annual Spring Folly Parking Lot Fundraiser. EGBE Foundations Academy
This school located in Jos, Nigeria. Foundations Academy was founded by a Nigerian, Bayo Oyebade and his American wife, Mary Beth. Their initial ministry to people living with HIV/AIDS led them to orphan care and with Mary Beth’s teaching background, she quickly realized the need for a better school for their orphans. Foundations Academy opened its doors in 2010 and with their reputation for excellence, it has grown to two locations. Our school in Egbe will become the third Foundations Academy. Nick and Katie Riddle from our congregation served as missionaries at Egbe.
Hope Center
is a food and clothing pantry and counseling center on Old Hollow Road that is a ministry of R3, a small church and mission organization on Kerner Road. They serve 1000 local people a month, despite being open only 4 hours a week, 9-11 Weds and Saturday. For more information on the Hope Center, go to https://projectr3.org/hope-center/
Interfaith Ministry
Supports and promotes successful aging through educational, service, volunteer, and support programs for older adults. Some of the programs include caregivers support group, companion sitters and respite care, counseling, equipment loan, household repairs. Members of Main Street Church serve on the Board and as volunteers in many of the programs.
Kids in Action Summer Camp
Kids in Action is a week long service camp and offers a service project in the morning and a fun activity in the afternoon for children in 2nd-5th grade. For more information email us.
Main Street UMC Preschool
For over 50 years Main Street has provided a half-day preschool program for members of our community. The program offers love, fun, Christian values, academics, and music for ages infant through Pre-K.
Next Step Ministries of Kernersville
Next Step Ministries is a safe haven for victims of domestic violence in our community. This ministry is dedicated to the mission of providing refuge, advocacy, and education to survivors of domestic violence and the broader community. Next Step operates the Next Step Ministries Thrift Store on Hwy 66 as a service to the community and a way to partially fund the agency. Many opportunities are available to be involved with this ministry include volunteering, shopping, and donating to the Thrift Store, and volunteering as an advocate, transportation provider, and furniture mover at the Safe House. Members of Main Street UMC serve on the Board and as volunteers at the store, safe house, and on several committees. Open Arms Community

Prison Ministry—KAIROS and the Forsyth Jail and Prison Ministry
With these prison ministries, men are allowed to enter facilities to minister to the residents. KAIROS is a 4-day Spiritual Retreat held annually. Women can volunteer for this retreat by becoming involved in the preparation of the meals for the volunteers and residents. When you volunteer at the Forsyth Jail & Prison Ministry you will be ministering to prisoners at a worship service and share fellowship time. Personal hygiene items are collected at various times throughout the year
to give to the these residents.
Samaritan Ministry
We are an interdenominational, volunteer-based Christian ministry that serves Winston-Salem and Forsyth County. Our Soup Kitchen and Samaritan Inn Shelter are open 365 days and nights a year to serve people in need.
Second Harvest Food Bank
Volunteer opportunities include sorting and organizing food in the warehouse, assisting the nutrition services team, teaching hand-on workshops, helping with community food drives, fundraising, and

Shepherd’s Center of Kernersville
Volunteers have a purpose in serving our neighbors who are aging or disabled by offering compassion, enrichment, and enhancing lives. Trans World Radio Mission
To reach the world for Christ by mass media so that lasting fruit is produced. Proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to as many people as possible. Instruct believers in biblical doctrine and daily Christ-like living. Model our message through corporate and cooperative relationships.
UMAR – A mission of the WNCC of UMC that operates 19 group homes, nine apartments, and three art centers across Western North Carolina in an effort promote community inclusion, independence, and growth for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Vacation Bible School
We have a Vacation Bible School every summer with registration taking place in May. Everyone is welcome and volunteers are always needed. For more information email us.
